Denver Botanical Gardens visit
Last week my husband and I took the kids to the free day at the Botanical Gardens. What a relaxing, hassle-free afternoon! They even had activities available for the kids. We checked out a book on trees facts, traveling watercolor sack and began to explore. We missed some of the special events taking place that day, which kept things simple. My seven year-old son loved the tropical gardens so we toured all three levels twice. Nothing like the rainforest in Denver on a hot summer day. The size of the leaves alone are impressive. My son, of course, preferred visiting the poison frog. Even with the steady stream of visitors, there were so many different gardens to explore it didn't feel crowded. I can still imagine the smells of the French kitchen garden and relaxing near the water garden. While we missed the refreshments under the white tents, both my three year-old and seven-year old enjoyed capturing their favorite memory in watercolor before we headed home.
